No new features this time — just the everyday parts of Booknook made dependable. Covers that load, a library that survives a dead connection, videos that post in seconds, and mentions that actually reach the person you named.

Book covers load reliably everywhere — in grids, in pickers, and while you scroll fast. No more covers stuck shimmering forever.
Your library works offline: your shelf and its covers stay on screen without a connection.
An outage no longer tells you your own library is private — it says what's actually wrong.
Videos are prepared on your phone before uploading, so posting a clip takes seconds instead of minutes.
Videos start sharp instead of blurry, and only the clip you're looking at loads — lighter on data and memory.
Sound follows the post you're viewing, with a proper mute/unmute control.

Explore now opens the Booknook Board — news, the roadmap, release notes and book discovery together.
Comment on articles and events, reply to other readers, and react with any emoji.
You're notified only when someone replies to you directly or reacts to your comment — never for the rest of the thread.
Search moved to its own screen, with a compact bar and its options tucked into a sheet.
Discovery shelves now show whose books they are, right on the cover.
Roadmap voting got a button that actually looks like voting.
Articles are public — share one with anyone, no account needed.

Your reading month, on a card

Every month you read now has a story of its own — a set of cards you can shape and share. The Share Studio learned new tricks, book pages gained the community's voice, and a long list of things you flagged are fixed.

Monthly wrap-up — a swipeable set of cards for every month you've read. Pick your book of the month, choose which numbers appear, edit any card in the Studio, then share them or post them to Booknook.
New card effects in the Share Studio — hearts, dust and shimmer, custom patterns, and stat, rating and badge stickers. With Creative, the effects animate and export as a GIF.
Favourites — mark any book as a favourite. On Creative, favourites get a foil finish.
Filter and search your shelves — find books by Favourites, Signed or Deluxe, or search your library by title.
Reactions and photos in comments — the full reaction set on posts and activities, plus one photo per comment.
What readers are saying — book pages now show the community's ratings and reviews, and the other editions readers are using.
Private ratings — keep a rating to yourself. It stays off the book page and out of the book's average.
Audiobooks read better — your position reached and time listened now show where a page count used to be assumed.
Goals you can correct — remove a book that shouldn't count, and import your reading history when you finish a book in a different edition.
Clearer profiles — private and friends-only nooks now explain themselves, and books in common separate what you've both read from what you've both shelved.
Your own glow — pick a colour for your page aura, and a separate one for your avatar ring.
Save images to your gallery — cards and photos land in a Booknook album.
Tags in your language — the whole tag vocabulary is now translated.
Faster feed and library, quicker covers, and the app now opens what it already has when the network is slow.
Fixes — likes that quietly undid themselves, replies stuck in the comment box, videos stuck on "processing", reading sessions landing on the wrong day, and a book picker that wouldn't respond in long lists.

The things that quietly did nothing

A fixes release. Taps that didn't register, shortcuts that went to the wrong page, a camera that refused without saying so, tags stuck in English, polls you couldn't read — all of it rounded up and dealt with.

Genres and formats speak your language. Book tags and edition formats came out of the catalogue in English no matter your setting. They now follow your app language everywhere they appear.
The camera says why it didn't open. Scanning a quote with camera or photo access turned off used to do nothing at all — a button that looked fine and went nowhere. You now get a message telling you exactly what to turn on in your phone's settings.
Big libraries can pick books again. In the book picker, anything past your 1,000th book looked perfectly normal but wouldn't respond to a tap. Fixed.
Shortcuts land where they should. Friends and Messages in your quick access menu quietly dropped you on the feed; they now open your friends panel and your conversations. Leaving or blocking inside a conversation takes you back to Messages too.
Follower counts open the right list. Tapping the followers or following number on a profile now opens that list instead of always the friends tab — and a profile opened from a push notification finally clears its badge.
Nook polls are readable. Long book titles are no longer cut off mid-word, empty result bars stay hidden until the first vote lands, and poll tiles are sized for what's actually in them.
Add a book with no ISBN. Submitting a book we don't have no longer requires an ISBN — tick the box, and a librarian looks it up and links your book to the right edition.
Book pages and rails. A "What readers are saying" card gathers other readers' ratings and reviews on a book, and on a computer your mouse wheel now scrolls every book rail, not just some of them.
Audio editions count in time. A session on an audio book now logs and shows a position and a listening time instead of a page number, and drops the pages-per-hour pace, which never meant anything for a listener.
Snapping in the Studio. Arranging a share card now has a Snap toggle, so elements line up on their own — or don't, if you'd rather place them by hand.

Your reading month, as a story you can share

Every month you read, Booknook now turns it into a set of cards — your books, your numbers, your favourite of the month — that you can edit, keep, and share. Plus a long list of smaller fixes to likes, saved images, and shared shelves.

Monthly Wrap-Up. Swipe through your reading month: the covers you finished, your month by the numbers, your book of the month, and a day-by-day view of when you actually read.
Make the cards yours. Edit any card in the Studio — move things around, pick which indicators appear, choose your own book of the month. Your changes are saved as a draft and stay put.
Share the whole month at once. Export all your cards to your gallery in one tap, or post them straight to your Booknook feed with a word about the month.
Save images to your gallery. Images in a post now have a real Save button — no more holding down the picture and hoping. On Android they land in a Booknook album.
Likes and reactions actually stick. Fixed the bug where a like would quietly undo itself a second later. Reactions now retry on a bad connection and tell you when they truly failed.
Clearer private profiles. Visiting someone who reads in private now explains what's shared and what isn't, instead of showing an empty page.
Books in common, sorted out. A new "Also shared" tab, and the counts now match what you can actually see.
Reading calendar and stats polish. A cleaner month calendar, a Queries tab on your stats page, and a clear explanation when an edition has no page count to track progress against.
Book pages tidied up. The reading-status button behaves the same everywhere, and tapping a book from someone else's shelf takes you to the right place instead of dead-ending.

Share Studio: design a card for anything you read — plus public book clubs and photos you can zoom right into

This release is about showing your reading off properly. Share Studio turns every share card into a small design studio inside Booknook: pick a book, a list, a goal, your club or your whole reader profile, move things around until the card looks like yours, then post it to your feed or take it anywhere else. Everything else in 2.4 makes what you share hold up — book clubs get a real public page, private books ask before they go out, and photos finally zoom.

Share Studio, your way. Every share card is now a canvas you can actually edit — drag, resize, rotate and lock anything on it. Add text, stickers, photos, book covers, your rating or your progress, and export as a Story, a Square or a Post.
Share nearly anything. A book, an edition, a list, a collection, a reading goal, a book haul, a book you just finished, your book club, or your reader profile.
Make it yours. Colours, backgrounds, gradients, dots and grids, five new frames, layouts, confetti and sparkles — plus a Reset that puts the card back exactly the way it arrived.
Lists that count. A shared list keeps its real order, fits up to 36 books, and carries the same number or paw stickers you use in the list itself.
One button at the end. Post it to your feed, download the image, send it through your phone's share sheet, or copy a link — and a shared list, collection or club now shows up on the feed with its own label instead of a trophy.
Book clubs worth an invitation. A Nook card is now a proper invite with your club's crest, and a public Nook has a real page anyone can open — no Booknook account needed.
Your reader card. Your profile as a card: your banner, your avatar, your aura, a few true stats and a rail of covers.
Private books stay your call. Posting about a book you've marked private now asks first, and reveals it in that one post only — your book stays private everywhere else.
Photos you can look at properly. Pinch, double-tap and drag to zoom up to 6× — in posts and in chat attachments, which now use the same viewer. Press and hold a photo (or right-click) to save it.
Messages that actually send. Photos are resized before they're sent, so a full-size phone photo goes through — and when a send does fail, it now tells you why instead of blaming your connection.
Polls about anything. Nook polls aren't only for books any more — vote on a theme, a date, or "none of these" — with no accidental duplicate options.
Better book lookups. Scanning or typing an ISBN finds more editions, French titles included, and two different books no longer land on the same record.
Smaller things. Half stars now render as half stars on shared cards. Finishing a book celebrates even if you skip writing the review. Share Studio works on a desktop screen. And a book you submit reliably reaches our librarians — a rejected one no longer sits at "under review" forever.
A new Fire reaction joins the tray, and every reaction was recoloured so it stays readable on the darker themes instead of fading into the card.
Edit, delete or report a message — the same actions in direct messages and in your book clubs.
Create a conversation in your club by name, or set up a numbered one for every chapter in a single step.
Post about a Public club and it goes to the main feed, with a link that opens even for people without an account. Post about a Friends only club and it goes to that club's own wall — the link and the image are still yours to send to anyone you'd like to invite. Private clubs stay invite-only.
Your friends list now shows how many books each of you has in common, and it respects everyone's privacy settings.
Big lists and collections no longer stop partway through — they used to quietly cut off at 100 books.

Audiobooks by the clock, a calmer social side, and notifications that finally land

This release answers the two things readers asked for most: audiobooks that count in hours and minutes instead of pages, and a social side that's easier to move around. Plus push notifications that actually arrive on iPhone and iPad.

Audiobooks, by the clock — set a book's length in hours and minutes, log where you are as a timestamp, and see time elapsed or time left. Any book can be counted in pages or in time, your call.
Messages have their own home — search every conversation, filter to unread, and pick up where you left off.
The bell is now an inbox — notifications and messages side by side, with mark all read and clear all.
A calmer Social hub — two tabs instead of four, one card per reader instead of a wall of repeats, and a Following / Discover switch on the feed.
See who's around — a rail of readers active right now, with a peek at what they've been up to.
Readers who read what you read — new suggestions built on the books you have in common and the ratings you agree on.
Privacy in plain words — Public, Friends only, or Private, each one explained, plus follow requests you can accept or decline and a switch to stop being suggested to others.
Nooks you can arrange — reorder and collapse channels, let members add their own poll options, rename discussions, and create a whole run of chapter channels in one go.
Notifications that arrive — push now works on iPhone and iPad, and Android banners show up properly instead of landing silently.
Paige got smarter — she runs on our strongest model, and a new panel lists everything she can do.
Clearer plans — Creative and Premium side by side, with a 30-day free trial on Premium.

Imports that keep your ISBNs, more French books, and progress your way

A repair-and-polish release. Big fixes to library imports, a lot more French books in search, and a reading pane that finally lets you set a book's length yourself.

BookMory imports now read your file's columns by name instead of by position — libraries that came in with no ISBNs at all, page counts taken from star ratings, or tags pulled out of comments now import correctly.
Books we can't match automatically stay in the queue instead of quietly disappearing, and unresolvable leftovers get cleaned up on their own.
Many more French titles show up in search: we now draw on an open-data index of Québec and French publishing, and we never show a book without a cover.
No page count on your edition? Set the length yourself right in the reading pane — in pages, or in minutes for audiobooks — and the progress bar comes back to life.
Log your progress as a page number or as a percentage; both fields stay in sync as you type.
Listening time no longer inflates your "pages read" totals — audiobooks are counted in their own unit.
Removing a book or clearing its sessions no longer leaves empty "logged a reading session" cards behind in the feed.
When a book data source is temporarily unreachable, we no longer save a half-empty record for a new book.

Bring your whole library, hands-free. Import from Bookmory, Goodreads, StoryGraph, or Babelio and we'll add your books for you — matching them in the background while you keep reading. Close the app if you like; we'll let you know the moment it's done.
A quick review, only when we're unsure. For books without an ISBN, we suggest the best match and set anything uncertain aside for a fast, one-tap "This one / Not this" check — no mess to clean up.
Live import progress. A little pill keeps you posted as books are looked up and added, with a tap for details.
Verify your email in one step. Enter the 6-digit code we send you — no hunting through links — and keep reading while it lands.
Share your reading on your terms. In a Nook, flip on "Share my progress here" per channel. Your account and library privacy stay exactly as they were.
