Yes! Booknook is free to use. There's an optional Premium tier with power-user tools, but core tracking, social features, and challenges are always free.
You can import your Goodreads library using a CSV export. Go to Settings → Import & Export to get started.
Booknook is available on Android via the Play Store and on iOS via the App Store. It also works great in any mobile browser.
Your profile and activity are visible to other Booknook members by default, and never published to the open web unless you turn on link sharing. You choose your audience in Settings — public, friends only, or fully private.
Nooks are reading groups where you and your friends can chat, share recommendations, and read together — your own little book club. Keep one private, or make it public for others to discover.
Challenges are themed reading goals you join as a community. Complete the criteria — like reading 5 books in a genre — to earn a badge.
Absolutely. Booknook is fully bilingual — switch between English and French at any time in Settings or from the top navigation.
Search by title, author, or ISBN — or scan the barcode on any book with your camera. Booknook searches multiple databases to find the right edition.
Sharing works the same for every Nook: the share button is always there, and you can always send the link or a share image to whoever you'd like to invite. What changes is where a POST about the Nook shows up. Post about a Public Nook and it goes to the main feed, where anyone can see it — its link also opens for visitors without a Booknook account. Post about a Friends only or Private Nook and it goes to that Nook's own wall instead, following the same rule as every other post made inside a Nook: only members see it. Private Nooks stay invite-only, so someone following the link still has to be invited to get in.
